Palestinian Narrative Workshop
Date(s) - 06/17/2017
8:45 am - 6:00 pm
Ravenswood Baptist Church
Palestinian Christian Alliance for Peace - PCAP
Palestinian narratives are essential for engaging Americans in conversations about the events in historic and current Palestine. Palestinian narratives that share the events in human terms make for a more complete and textured understanding of the situation. It is also critical that Palestinian family stories are captured for posterity.
The goal of this workshop is to prepare Palestinians to share their family stories in churches and to faith-based organizations. The general expectation is that by the end of this workshop each participant will have a brief oral and visual presentation. The decision to be placed on the PCAP Speakers List is completely up to those who successfully complete the workshop. There will be follow-up workshops for those who want to refine their presentation skills or to further compile and organize their family story.
Applicants are asked to provide a) full name, b) address, c) email address, d) phone contacts, e) a one page essay that completes “It is important that we as Palestinian Americans share our family stories because . . .”
Please send your information and essay to firstname.lastname@example.org on or before Monday, May 8. The Selection Committee will send you pre-workshop information and material to bring to the workshop once they review your application.
The cost for the workshop is $35.00, which covers materials, food (continental breakfast, lunch, and snacks), and venue. Scholarships are available. No one will be turned away.
