Raise the Keffiyeh
Date(s) - 01/28/2017
7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
We are proud to announce the third annual Raise the Keffiyeh! RTK is Students for Justice in Palestine’s signature event that showcases the beautiful culture of Palestine.
Palestinians and Palestinian Americans make up the largest amount of Arabs on this campus, and Arabs make up over 5% of the student body population at The Ohio State University, so we feel it is neccesary to enlighten you all on our culture, especially Palestinian food such as falafel and shawarma! But, you might even see some delicacies like k’nafa!
This year we are more than excited than ever to announce who we will be hosting on our campus, but let me just tell you if you like dabke, live music, comedy, and Palestine then you are going to want to be there.
Performers will be announced as soon as they are confirmed periodically, so stay on the lookout for that.
A portion of the evening will be dedicated to student performances, so if you would like to perform any talent or would like to nominate anyone, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or message us on here. You do not have to be Palestinian or Palestinian-American, we recognize the intersectionality of our people’s cause, and we support other marginilized groups on this campus, so we would love for those students to be represented.
We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday, January 28th, at 7 pm in Hitchcock Hall 131.
This event was originally planned for April 16th, 2016. However, due to last minute canceled performances, and the lack of proper funding, we thought it was in the best interest to reschedule until this year.
We thank you for understanding!
***Ticket sales will be released over winter break***
