About this event

Instruments of the Divine, Religious Practice in Ancient Egypt –

Cult of the Living and Dead

The ancient Egyptians worshipped their gods through daily cult carried out in temples and annual festivals, often linked to the agricultural cycle. From the New Kingdom onwards there is also evidence of worship in the home of both ancestors and deities. Part one of this course will study objects which were used in this religious practice. This will also include temple and tomb images which illustrate these activities.
