SUMMARY:40th Annual National Council on U.S. Arab Relations
DESCRIPTION:"Join the National Council for a special evening in celebration
  of the 40th anniversary of the Council's establishment as a Washington-ba
 sed\, non-profit\, educational NGO.\n\nAs the Council commemorates four de
 cades of promoting educational and cultural understanding\, it will honor 
 and recognize outstanding leaders who have made significant contributions 
 to building bridges between the United States and the Arab region. There w
 ill also be keynote remarks by HRH Prince Turki Al Faisal Al Saud during t
 he program as well as music\, entertainment\, and a unique silent auction 
 in support of the Council's educational mission.\nFounded in 1983\, the N
 ational Council on U.S.-Arab Relations is an American non-profit\, non-go
 vernmental\, educational organization dedicated to improving American awar
 eness\, knowledge\, and understanding of the Arab countries\, the Mideast\
 , and the Islamic world.\nIts means for doing so encompass but are not lim
 ited to programs for leadership development\, people-to-people exchanges
 \, lectures\, publications\, an annual Arab-U.S. policymakers conferenc
 e\, and the participation of American students and faculty in Arab world 
 study experiences. As a public service\, the National Council also serves 
 as an information clearinghouse and participant in national\, state\, a
 nd local grassroots outreach to media\, think tanks\, and select community
 \, civic\, educational\, business\, and professional associations. In thes
 e ways the Council helps strengthen and expand the overall Arab-U.S. relat
 ionship."
