DESCRIPTION:This course that will be held on a weekly basis online starting
  Tuesday\, August 5th at 6:30pm and explores the historical\, cultural\,
  religious\, and political dynamics of the Middle East and the broader Mus
 lim world. It provides an in-depth analysis of key historical events\, inc
 luding the rise of Islam\, the Ottoman Empire\, colonialism\, and the mode
 rn geopolitical landscape. The course also examines contemporary issues su
 ch as governance\, economic development\, conflicts\, identity\, and the r
 ole of religion in society.\n\nStudents will engage with primary and secon
 dary sources\, scholarly debates\, and media representations to develop a 
 nuanced understanding of the region. Topics will also include the diversit
 y of Muslim societies\, the impact of globalization\, and the relationship
  between the Middle East and the wider world. By the end of the course\, s
 tudents will have a well-rounded perspective on the complexities shaping t
 he region today and past the mainstream media limited narrative.\n\nLearni
