The mother of one-pot meals, the tagine, is a perfect way to look and feel fancy and such a simple and delicious way to create a satisfying meal that is just as perfect for a Sunday dinner, weeknight meal and or classic date dish!

Travel the world to discover big bold flavors from our spices paired with local and seasonal ingredients to create rustic, rich dishes that embrace global cultures- In this class we create a classic Moroccan Tagine spiced organic chicken with chickpeas and a fiery Algerian style crostini used to soak up the juices from your savory tagine.

Show off with new farm skills! Learn about canning by creating your own jar of preserved lemons.

Come and visit our farm here in the Hudson Valley and create classic dishes that truly draws inspiration from the Middle-East (Maghreb region of Northern Africa)

This is a three-hour hands-on cooking class unless otherwise stated, where you will be cooking the first two hours and sitting to eat generous tasting portions the last 30-45 minutes.

Please bring empty containers to take home leftovers to savor in the comforts of your home with family and friends.

ABOUT NIRMALA’S KITCHEN

Nirmala’s Kitchen is a leading specialty spice manufacturer headquartered in New York’s Hudson Valley and founded in 2003 by Nirmala Narine. She has traveled to over 167 countries working with local farmers in search of unique spices, studying their flavors and combining her extensive Ayurvedic knowledge to create spice blends that fuse cultures through food.

Nirmala started out selling spices at local markets, cultural events and at museums. Now Michelin 3-star chefs seek after her flavorful line of distinctive and high-quality spices. Her line of products are sold on six continents

Today, Nirmala’s farm is truly a destination, once a working dairy ranch and vibrant rodeo from the 1800s through the 1960s. Five decades later, she has reincarnated the farm to the art of whole living; an Agro-ecology destination, Spice Shop, Apiary, a hands-on learning Cooking School, Spice Suppers, and an Ayurvedic holistic wellness center, focusing on transcendental yoga meditation.

Nirmala is a sought-after speaker and consultant on global trends, flavor, and fragrance. She is the author of a YA novel, Elisheva Cinnamon, and multiple travel-memoir cookbooks, the television host and executive producer of Nirmala’s Spice World (ZLiving Network), and the founder of Nirmala’s Farmstead, a foundation dedicated to empower, educate, and cultivate future generations of farmers, agricultural leaders and natural resource curators.
