Hands on Cooking with Chef Deborah Costella

Learn how to incorporate the Healing Magic of spices indigenous to Moroccan Cuisine, by signing up for Chef Deborah’s Moroccan Experience. This class is sure to have your taste buds dancing. Big, bold flavors are all actors in this blockbuster of a meal. In this class, Deborah will be demonstrating how to use the traditional tagine to sear and slow-cook proteins along winter vegetables. She will also teach you how to prepare a cooling Baklava Ice Cream and to into depth about the medicinal value of the ingredients used. Join us for a hands-on food experience in the preparation of:

A Tantalizing Experience of Big Bold Flavors

Entrée: Roasted Chicken, caramelized onion and preserved lemon prepared in a traditional Tagine.

Sides: Couscous w/Saffron and Ginger, Orange & Olive Salad

Dessert: Baklava Ice Cream

About the Instructor:

Chef Deborah returns to the Santa Cruz area after twenty-plus years in Vegas. There, she honed her skills as a Personal Chef and Culinary Instructor, working with kids, teens, celebrities and everything in between. She has penned two cookbooks; “Cooking With Granddad” and “One Four-Ounce Serving – A Collection of Food Stories and Recipes.” She continues her work as a Food Writer for Medicinally focused publications as well as sharing her years of experience and knowledge in the art of cookery, right here in Santa Cruz.
