The Museum and galleries bring to light the shared experienc es\, history\, culture and art of immigrants and ethnic groups\, paying tr ibute to the diversity of Arab Americans. A delicious middle-eastern lunch will be served in the museum annex.\n \n\n\nAfter lunch the bus will tak e us to the new Cass Community in Detroit. The director or a board member will be our guide on the bus to explain the initiatives of the community a s we drive through and make stops in the village. Cass Community Social S ervices is a Detroit-based agency with a person-centered philosophy\, ded icated to providing food\, housing\, health services\, and job programs in areas of concentrated poverty. They have a unique project to build "Tiny Homes" which homeless people can rent (jobs are required and provided) and own after 7 years. They have purchased a former convent to provide shelte r for 75 parents and children\, and a historic church is being developed i nto a community center.
