 Bayan for an enchanting evening of uplifting spiritual music performed by 
 world-renowned Al-Firdaus Ensemble from Granada\, Spain.\nBayan Islamic Gr
 aduate School once again welcomes Sidi Ali Keeler and the Al-Firdaus Ensem
 ble for a rare Southern California appearance. Come and appreciate a mesme
 rizing blend of traditional and contemporary melodies representing traditi
 ons from East and West\, rooted in faith\, love of the Prophet Muhammad (
 ﷺ)\, and a spirit of human dignity and upliftment for all people.\n\nThe
  vocal and musical performances will feature compositions and songs from t
 he ensemble's various albums\, as well as new material.\n\nProgram\n\n 	5:

  rows B/C/D/E).\n\nMORE ABOUT AL-FIRDAUS ENSEMBLE\n\nAl-Firdaus Ensemble w
 as founded in 2012 by the English violinist and singer Ali Keeler\, and is
  based in Granada\, Spain. The group takes its inspiration from the word F
 irdaus\, which is the Arabic name (of Persian origin) for the most elevate
 d abode in Paradise.\n\nThe intercultural nature of this name reflects the
  character of the group in which musicians from different countries and cu
 ltural backgrounds are brought together with one purpose - to tune their h
 earts to receive the inspiration of the moment and transmit that to the au
 dience. The traditional Arabic term for this kind of music is sama` which 
 could be translated as “the art of listening.”\n\nThe unique sound of 
 their music is due to a synthesis of different musical styles. These inclu
 de original compositions of a more Western classical character with influe
 nces from both Celtic and Flamenco traditions\, and new arrangements of so
 ngs drawn from the rich heritage of traditional sufi music from Arabic\, A
 ndalusi and Turkish sources. The words of the songs are mainly in Arabic d
 rawn from the poetry of the great sufis from Al Andalus and the Arab world
  such as Ibn Arabi and Al Shushtari. Also within their repertoire are musi
 cal adaptations of poems in aljamiado (old Spanish written by the Moriscos
  using the Arabic script). They use a combination of Arabic and Western cl
 assical instruments in addition to the flamenco guitar\, and have a range 
 of singers\, some of whom are soloists and others who sing in the choruses
 . They have performed in concerts and international festivals throughout E
 urope\, Bosnia\, the U.S.\, Morocco\, Algeria\, Tunisia\, Turkey\, Lebanon
 \, and Malaysia.\n\n\n
