 day discussion.\n\nAbstract:\nWith the world’s attention focused on Isra
 el’s “War on Gaza” it is easy to overlook increased Israeli military
  actions and growing settler violence against Palestinians in the West Ban
 k. More than 700\,000 Israeli settlers live in 279 illegal settlements a
 cross the occupied West Bank\, including 14 in the occupied East Jerusalem
 . Since October 7\, 2023\, Israeli military and settler attacks have kill
 ed more than 320 Palestinians. Both the United States and the United ­Ki
 ngdom have announced visa bans on violent settlers due to this flare-up.
 \nVFHL offers four short videos revealing what it's like for Palestinians 
 to live under occupation in the West Bank\, the plight of families who hav
 e fled\, the arguments of Israelis who want to empty this occupied land of
  Palestinians\, and what the international community might do to stem the 
 violence.\n\nPanelists:\nMichael Lynk is Associate Professor at the Facul
 ty of Law\, Western University\, London\, Ontario\, Canada. He served as A
 ssociate Dean of the Faculty between 2008-11. Professor Lynk teaches and w
 rites in the areas of labour law\, human rights law\, and constitutional l
 aw. He also serves as a labour arbitrator and mediator. In May 2016\, the 
 United Nations Human Rights Council appointed Professor Lynk as Special Ra
 pporteur for the human rights situation in the Palestinian territories (oc
 cupied since 1967) for a six-year term. In this capacity\, he delivered re
 gular reports to the UN General Assembly and the Human Rights Council on h
 uman rights trends in the OPT.\nOmar Haramy is on the steering committee 
 of Kairos Palestine. Omar is an individual who embodies a rich tapestry of
  identities. He's an Arab\, a Palestinian\, a Jerusalemite\, and a Christi
 an of Greek Orthodox faith. Since 2017\, Omar has been at the helm of Sabe
 el\, an influential center dedicated to Palestinian liberation theology. S
 abeel is an ecumenical\, grassroots movement\, driven by the Palestinian C
 hristian grassroots community. The organization's core mission is to deepe
 n the faith of Palestinian Christians while fostering unity among them. It
  also encourages active engagement in pursuing justice and peace.\nTariq H
 athaleen is an English language teacher\, working in a village neighborin
 g his own in Masafer Yatta of South Hebron Hills\, Palestine. He is active
 ly involved in human rights activism and serves as a community leader in t
 he South Hebron Hills region. Tariq states\, “My commitment to education
  and advocacy reflects my deep roots in Um Al-Khair\, where I was born and
  raised.” Um Al-Khair is one of many Bedouin villages in the south of th
 e West Bank at risk of home demolitions and forced relocation due to settl
 ement expansion. Tariq holds a bachelor’s degree in English teaching met
 hods.\nAriel Gold (moderator) is the executive director of the Fellowship
  of Reconciliation-USA\, the country's oldest interfaith peace and justice
  organization. Prior to 2018\, when Israel deported and banned Ariel\, she
  traveled once or twice a year to work on the ground with Palestinian gras
 sroots nonviolence activists. Ariel wrote contributions to the books Recl
 aiming Judaism from Zionism: Stories of Personal Transformation\, edited 
 by Carolyn Karcher\, and Bayard Rustin: A Legacy of Protest and Politics\
 , edited by Michael G. Long. Her writings have been published in The Nat
 ion\, Forward\, Responsible Statecraft\, Ms. Magazine\, and more.\n\nWatc
