About this Event
Arab Listening Circle
A listening circle is a container that can be used to bring people together (virtually or in-person), connect, listen and share in a different way.
A circle prompts the group to share an experience or a story, or be present in silence.
The purpose of this Arab Listening Circle is to (hopefully) create a space for each of us to have room to share, listen to ourselves and what is coming through us, listen to others and just maybe connect a few dots (I SEE YOU).
It is difficult to fully describe what is a listening circle. Experience will be your best teacher here. You may want to join because you wish to connect to new faces, get out of your head or maybe just to explore parts of yourself unknown (until revealed through new interactions).
This is a free event, and open to all. We are calling this an Arab Listening Circle because we wish to cater to our people and hold space for anyone who may need it.
Here is the general outline of a listening circle:
grounding practice/ invitations for dedications/ prompt is offered for a check-in round / prompt is offered for story telling round/ witnessing round/ closing
Listening Circles is a practice that comes from ancient wisdom traditions. If you are curious about learning to facilitate, please check out We are Open Circle (www.weareopencricle.com).
*This event will be facilitated in English but participants are welcome to speak in French or Arabic, depending on the groups agreement
It is not therapy, but it can be therapeutic!
