WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

At KAMA DC, we believe that immigrants make our communities stronger. Sharing their stories helps foster a more inclusive and connected community, while working to create lasting relationships. Please join us, in collaboration with Lapis, for an evening of storytelling with immigrants from our community sharing their experiences of coming to the United States. Lapis will have small plates, such as sambosa (a crispy filo pastry filled with spinach or beef), bolani (Afghan flatbread), and falafel, available for purchase. Storytelling will begin at 7:00pm, and will take place in Lapop, the downstairs lounge of Lapis, in Adams Morgan.

***We have now reached capacity for this event. Those who have registered will have priority until 6.50pm. At 6.50, we will open any remaining spaces to others on a first come, first served basis***

Among the storytellers, we have:

Rita – from Beirut, Lebanon
Ed – from Aleppo, Syria
Hannan – Eritrean/Ethiopian and born in Saudi Arabia
Zaid – from Damascus, Syria
Mahdy Mehraeen – from Afghanistan

We will also have time for some slots for anyone who in the audience who feels inspired to tell their own immigration story!
