 r a walking tour of Boston's historic Little Syria\, led by Chloe Bordewi
 ch\, co-founder of the Boston Little Syria Project.\n\nThe Boston Little
  Syria Project (www.bostonlittlesyria.org) preserves and shares the histo
 ry of Boston’s first Arabic-speaking neighborhood\, which thrived betwee
 n the 1880s and the 1950s in today’s Chinatown and South End. It was onc
 e home to thousands of immigrants from Ottoman-controlled Syria\, but few 
 visible traces remain. Working closely with descendants\, the initiative h
 as engaged the public in the story of this diaspora community through walk
 ing tours\, exhibitions\, oral histories\, a digital map\, and the digitiz
 ation of family archives.\n\nChloe Bordewich is co-founder of the Boston 
 Little Syria Project with Lydia Harrington. She holds a PhD in modern Midd
 le Eastern history from Harvard (2022) and was a postdoctoral fellow in pu
 blic and digital history at Boston University and the University of Toront
 o. From 2026-27\, she is Visiting Assistant Professor of Public History at
  NYU Abu Dhabi.\n\nThe walking tour will meet at the Chinatown Gates in do
 wntown Boston and will conclude in the South End of Boston.\n\n\n
