DESCRIPTION:Join a daylong conference exploring the opportunities for and c
 hallenges of community-engaged research on the history of Arab Americans.\
 nEvent Details\nCentral Indiana Arab American community members\, public h
 istorians and nationally-known humanities scholars will present a daylong 
 conference exploring the opportunities for and challenges of community-eng
 aged research on the history of Arab Americans. Participants will examine 
 how Arab American public history—from museum exhibits\, archives\, popul
 ar writing and blog posts to historical tours\, documentary film and publi
 c art—challenge or sometimes sustain the xenophobic\, racial and religio
 us bigotry faced by Arab Americans.\n\nScholars from institutions across t
 he United States will present short talks and foster dialogues. The confer
 ence begins with a continental breakfast at 9 a.m. Lunch will also be serv
