We’re so excited to be hosting the San Francisco Bay Area Premiere of visionary Sudanese director Hajooj Kuka’s debut fiction feature aKasha, which has received critical acclaim since its World Premiere at the Venice International Film Critics’ Week (Settimana Internazionale della Critica) last year.
A comedy of errors/buddy movie that follows a would-be revolutionary over the course of 24 hours, aKasha is a wild rollercoaster ride with non-stop surprises, twists, and reveals while at the same time remaining in dialogue with the very real political pressures faced by young Sudanese men in the rebel-held areas of Sudan. The film will also screen as our Closing Night presentation in Oakland, we can’t wait to see you there!
