About this Event
Feel at home anywhere with languages.
مرحبا Marhabaan! (Hello!)
Arabic is spoken in its various dialects across 25 countries by about 400 million people today. Whether you’re interested learning the language, script and cultural cues in order to travel to Lebanon, Jordan, Syria or Palestine, or to communicate more effectively with family and friends here in Sydney, Arabic is one of the most rhythmic and captivating languages to learn today.
We invite you to spend a few hours every week in the Arab world with us, to learn the language of Fadl Shaker, Elie Saab, Elissa, Queen Rania of Jordan, and DJ Khaled.
UNSW Global courses are designed to create opportunities for real-life communication practice and connect you with other people who share your interests.
Did you know:
-Over 150,000 Sydneysiders speak Arabic, and most of these speak the Levantine dialect.
-Modern Standard Arabic is common among all Arabic-speaking populations and is used in news media such as Al Jazeera in order to be accessible across the Arab nations, however, it is not spoken on the street.
This course runs weekly on Tuesdays from 6.30pm to 8.30pm for 10 weeks.
