Arabic - Level 3
Date(s) - 06/11/2020 - 08/13/2020
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
What you’ll learn in this intermediate arabic class:
Level 3 is for those who are starting to feel comfortable speaking in the present tense, as well as for those who have basic knowledge of how the progressive past tense works.
Here is a list of things that you should be familiar with to know if Level 3 is right for you:
1) You can say short phrases in MSA Arabic in the present tense such as:
She is American.
Her father is American.
The Palestinian man’s sister studies literature.
I don’t remember their names.
Where does that man live?
2) You can say short phrases in Arabic in the past tense such as:
He was studying literature.
3) You can recognize the differences between:
الوالد المصري and الوالد مصري and والد المصري
كان يدرس and يدرس
مدينة and المدينة
مدينة جميلة and مدن جميلة
4) You know how:
a) To find the root of a word
b) To use the Arabic dictionary
If the answer to these questions is yes, you would be able to keep up with a Level 3 class. Level 3 is taught primarily in MSA Arabic with the first or second class designed to help you adjust to Arabic being used in the classroom exclusively. If you are feeling very confident about all the above concepts, be sure to check the Level 4 description to be sure that level isn’t more appropriate for you.
80% of our students place themselves correctly, so don’t stress about your level. Use these descriptions to determine which level best matches where you’re at in your study of the language and save your spot in a class by enrolling ASAP. Many of our classes fill up weeks in advance – don’t get stuck on a waitlist by waiting too long to enroll!
Students who find the class they signed up for is too advanced or not advanced enough after the first week or two should talk to their teacher about switching levels. With the teacher’s approval, we will transfer you to the correct level of class in the same language you signed up for at no additional cost.
