 n\n\n\nJoin us for a conversation with Rania Matar about her newst body of
  work\, and our current exhibition at Leica Gallery Boston\, Where Do I Go
 ? لوينروح.\n\n2025 marked the fiftieth anniversary of the Lebanese 
 Civil War. As the country and its people reckoned with the legacy of its p
 ast\, they also confronted the struggles of the present— economic instab
 ility\, lingering reminders of the pandemic\, undue violence across the re
 gion\, and for many\, the enduring pain of the Beirut Port Explosion. The 
 precarity has led many to emigrate elsewhere.\n\nThrough it all\, Matar ha
 s found hope and inspiration in Lebanon’s young women. Having left Leban
 on during the Civil War in 1984\, she knows well the difficult decision of
  whether to leave or to stay.\n\nHer arresting portraits affirm the presen
 ce\, strength\, and resilience of her subjects. Whether situated in an aba
 ndoned building or within the country’s natural landscape\, history\, pl
 ace\, and identity become one in her images. The women’s presence exudes
  out of the frame\, claiming space— asking their audience to look at the
 m\, and to answer Where Do I Go?\n\nCoffee\, pastries\, and copies of Mata
 r's newest monograph will be available at the event. This exhibition is be
 ing mounted in collaboration with Robert Klein Gallery.\n\n\n\n
