 \nLaila Lalami is the author of five books\, including The Moor’s Accoun
 t\, which won the American Book Award\, the Arab-American Book Award\, and
  the Hurston/Wright Legacy Award. It was on the longlist for the Booker Pr
 ize and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Fiction. Her most recent 
 novel\, The Other Americans\, was a national bestseller\, won the Joyce Ca
 rol Oates Prize\, and was a finalist for the National Book Award in Fictio
 n. She has been awarded fellowships from the British Council\, the Fulbrig
 ht Program\, the Guggenheim Foundation\, and the Radcliffe Institute at Ha
 rvard University. She is currently Distinguished Professor of Creative Wri
 ting at the University of California at Riverside. She lives in Los Angele
 s.\n\nDavid L. Ulin is the author or editor of nearly twenty books\, inclu
 ding the novel Thirteen Question Method and Sidewalking: Coming to Terms w
