DESCRIPTION:Join us in Greater Boston (Cambridge and Arlington) for a weeke
 nd of live music and dance with Master Percussionist Issam Houshan. We are
  so delighted to welcome him back to Boston\, on September 14-15\, 2024!!\
 n\nTHIS IS A TWO-DAY EVENT\n\nDancers\, learn more about how to dance and 
 perform to live music with Issam at this 2-day event! All levels welcome!\
 n\nMusicians also very welcome to learn more about playing for dancers fro
 m Issam's vast international experience.\n\nIssam will be teaching in part
 nership with Boston resident dancer Seyyide Sultan.\n\nJoin us for worksho
 ps\, and we will end with a hafla with a show!\n\nThe union of music and m
 ovement is the essence of dance. The union of a musician and a dancer to c
 reate a seamless artistic expression of oneness between the two is the ult
 imate manifestation of such a union. Issam Houshan is one of the rarest of
  talents as that is exactly what he does. He's been called the Wassan Phar
 aoun\, King Of The Drum\, or Mr. Magic Fingers and that only tells half of
  it. It's his connection to the dancer that is the essence of his magic. I
 t is a merging of egos serving a mutual and identical goal that few musici
 ans ever master fully. Issam is now recognized as the ultimate master of t
 his art.\n\nIssam was born in Syria and emigrated to the U.S. He was forma
 lly trained in the Damascus Academy of Music and went on to drum for a hos
 t of Arab music stars and famous Belly Dancers. He is also the only remain
 ing disciple of the legendary Arab drum master Mahmood Salahadeen.\n\nIn t
 he U.S. he performed with Sting on the Grammy's and with the renowned Bell
 ydance Supertars in over 879 shows in 20 countries. In the Bellydance Supe
 rstars\, Issam became a mentor\, partner\, and inspiration\, giving selfle
 ssly to the good of the troupe as a whole.\n\nIssam is featured in the fil
 m American Belly Dancer\, Solos From Monte Carlo\, Belly Dance Super Stars
 \, 30 Days To Vegas\, Behind The Shimmy\, Introduction to the Middle Easte
 rn Rhythms\, Tribal Drum solo Choreography with Zoe and partners with Soni

 \nIssam's background\, training and experience have made him in huge deman
 d for drum tutorials and workshops both as a solo artist and in collaborat
