DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Cookbook Club to read\, cook\, and eat from BOU
 STANY by Sami Tamimi.\n\nAn homage to Palestinian food and culture\, BOUST
 ANY translates from Arabic as “my garden\,” which reflects Sami’s si
 gnature style and approach to food: colorful and simple vegetable- and gra
 in-led dishes. It’s an approach that’s strongly present in Palestinian
  cuisine\, from building your mooneh\, or pantry\, by preserving seasonal 
 vegetables and herbs to lining the dinner table with a variety of salads a
 nd condiments reflective of a love for fresh and vibrant food.\n\nBecause 
 it is impossible to think about food (particularly Palestinian food) witho
 ut also thinking about the manufactured famine in Gaza and the ongoing gen
 ocide\, we have teamed up with Solidarity Supper Club (@solidaritysuppercl
 ub on IG) for this event. They are a weekly supper club in the DC area tha
 t raises funds for mutual aid for families in Gaza. ALL proceeds from this
  particular Cookbook Club will go towards Gaza's Roots (@gazasroots on IG)
 \, a mutual aid group that delivers food to families in Gaza. We will be 
 collecting donations at the door\, along a $10 to $25 sliding scale. Of co
 urse\, you can contribute more if you wish and are able.\n\nTo participate
 \, reserve your spot via this Eventbrite. Then\, select a recipe from BOUS
 TANY and sign up to bring it via THIS SPREADSHEET. ​​​Copies of Bou
 stany are available for sale at Bol's pop-up at Creative Grounds in DC (18
 22 North Capitol St. NW). If you can't access a copy of the book\, you can
  also reach out to us at info@bol.coop and we can share a photograph of an
 y recipe you like with you.\n\nSome notes: We will not have an oven or mic
 rowave on hand to heat up the food. We are also striving to make this even
 t zero-waste\, so please bring your own servingware\, plate\, cutlery\, na
 pkins\, and water!
