WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
Celebrate refugee homelands through an Afghan and Pakistan family-style cuisine and enjoy the photo exhibition of 1,001 Syrian Nights.
Join us for this intimate fundraising dinner to break down barriers to local refugee integration. All proceeds will help pay for the tuition of a local refugee woman’s intensive English classes.
The 1,001 Syrian Nights photo exhibit is from photographer Jason Hamacher’s personal archive of pre-war Syria photographs. His entire archive was recently acquired by The Library of Congress for its permanent collection. It is a remarkable exhibit and focuses on resiliency.
This dinner is hosted by the Global Center for Refugee Education and Science in partnership with The Lost Origins Gallery.
Food is being provided by Lapis, a modern Afghan bistro, and Sakina Halal Grill.
