In honour of International Women’s Day, CAI is celebrating Arab women trailblazers on March 16th from 6-7:30 pm.

About this Event

To celebrate International Women’s Day, the Canadian Arab Institute (CAI), invites you to join a virtual panel featuring:

Dr. Bessma Momani, Full Professor in the Department of Political Science and Assistant Vice-President, Research and International in the Office of Research at the University of Waterloo

Carole Saab, Chief Executive Officer of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities

Dr. Muna Saleh, Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) and Author

Dr. Hoda ElMaraghy, Recipient of the Order of Canada, First woman Dean of Engineering in Canada, Professor & founding Director of the Intelligent Manufacturing Systems (IMS) Center at the University of Windsor

& Barâa Arar, Toronto-based community organizer, writer, and editor.

The panelists will share their expertise and experience in a conversation moderated by Sara Asalya, Founder and Executive director of the Newcomer Students’ Association and named top 25 Women of Influence.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme is #ChooseToChallenge and we are celebrating the women who have chosen to challenge gender bias and inequity.

This is an open event for all to attend. The virtual panel will be held on March 17th from 6:00 to 7:30 pm EST.
