A Call to Action for Black and Palestinian Liberation – April 7 & 8, 2017
At First Iconium Baptist Church
542 Moreland Avenue SE – Atlanta, Georgia 30316

We live in dangerous and divisive times. Black lives do not matter to militarized police forces and bigoted vigilantes patrolling our streets. Six thousand miles away, Palestinian youth and adults are shot dead by soldiers and settlers in occupied Palestine. Geography may separate us, but the struggle against systematic injustice unites us. No person, no race, no organization, can afford to stand alone.

On the evening of Friday, April 7: 6 pm–9 pm We will have a delicious meal catered by Suryana: Cuisine from Damascus, owned and operated by Syrian refugees, and see an amazing exhibit of photographs and artifacts by collected by Emory University professor Carlton Mackey, exploring linkages between Black and Palestinian cultures and struggles.

On Saturday, April 8: 9 am–6 pm We will learn from each other, particularly from those who have wisdom and experience in organizing for Black and Palestinian liberation. Keynote speakers include human rights activist and attorney, Noura Erakat, Reuvan Abergel, founder of Black Panthers of Israel, and Lucas Johnson, International Coordinator of the Fellowship of Reconciliation. Afternoon workshops will prepare us for liberating actions, such as the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign, Not One Dime, demonstrations and nonviolent direct action.

Use the “Get involved” button to register and donate. Registration is required, but we are not charging a registration fee. Instead, your tax-deductible contribution will help make the event possible.

We will strategize, we will act together, and WE WILL RESIST!
