About the TERN Launch Fairs:

Every year come late March, TERN incubates a cohort of new, refugee-led social enterprises through a ‘Launch Fair’. These open-door events (traditionally in person, but now increasingly virtual) help refugee founders make their new organisations official, present their products or services and in the process, gain supporters and new networks (volunteers, partners in the industry) and, in some case, fundraise (e.g. through parallel crowd funding campaigns) and in the process, gain confidence!

A snapshot of the founders represented at the Fair:

Around 15 founders from the TERN community will launch & present their businesses at the Social StartUp Fair. We have already shortlisted entrepreneurs for this, including (amongst others):

~Founder Faisal Abdalla’s zero-waste shoe company, Jungle Shoes, which makes made-to-order repurposed car tyre sandals.

~Founder Bejoseholo Aikhomun’s Instant PickUp, an online platform connecting electric van drivers with customers, in an effort to combat emissions in London’s delivery sector.

~Founder Daeel Hagy’s Trees Against Poverty, an innovative charity that plants trees in Syria and combats poverty in the region through an online donations platform.

The audience will be composed of the general public, leaders and entrepreneurs in social enterprise world, TERN community members, supporters and partners. Of course, we invite you to reach out to any of your contacts, too, the more the merrier!
