 e in Occupied Palestine. This live\, in-person event will be hosted by Law
  &amp\; Disorder’s Cat Brooks.\n\n“An authoritative argument against t

 uman consequences of oppression\, occupation\, and violence experienced in
  Palestine today\, Pulitzer-prize-winning journalist Chris Hedges issues a
  call to action urging us to bear witness and engage with the ongoing huma
 nitarian crisis.\n\nHedges wrote the first section of the book when he was
  in Ramallah in July 2024\, and he draws from his experience doing extensi
 ve reporting from the Middle East\, including Gaza\, for the New York Time
 s.\n\nA Genocide Foretold confronts the stark realities of life under sieg
 e in Gaza and the heroic effort ordinary Palestinians are waging to resist
  and survive. Weaving together personal stories\, historical context\, and
  unflinching journalism\, Chris Hedges provides an intimate portrait of sy
 stemic oppression\, occupation\, and violence.\n\nChris Hedges is the form
 er Pulitzer Prize–winning Middle East Bureau Chief for The New York Time
 s. An Arabic speaker\, he spent seven years covering the conflict between 
 Israel and the Palestinians\, much of that time in Gaza. He is the author 
 of 14 books. He has taught at Columbia University\, New York University\, 
 Princeton University\, and the University of Toronto. He has also taught f
 or over a decade in the college degree program offered by Rutgers Universi
 ty in the New Jersey prison system. He holds a B.A. from Colgate Universit
 y in English Literature and a Master of Divinity from Harvard University. 
 He lives in Princeton\, New Jersey.\n\nCat Brooks is a community organizer
 \, director\, playwright\, and actress. She is also the host of KPFA’s L
 aw &amp\; Disorder. She’s the co-founder and executive director of the A
 nti Police-Terror Project whose mission is to eradicate police terror in c
 ommunities of color. As an organizer\, she played a central role in the st
 ruggle for justice for Oscar Grant\, and has spent the last 17 years worki
 ng with impacted communities and families to rapidly respond to police vio
 lence and radically transform the ways we define and implement public safe
 ty strategies. Cat was the runner-up in Oakland’s 2018 mayoral election\
