The MENA Forum is pleased to bring you a conversation with Abderrahim Foukara, Al Jazeera’s Washington, DC Bureau Chief. Al Jazeera is a Qatari state-funded media organization with 80 bureaus around the world. The organization is among the largest media networks based in the Middle East. Foukara will speak on a range of topics, including US-MENA relations during the Trump administration, Al Jazeera’s role in current events in the Middle East, and the security implications of the Gulf Cooperation Council’s political disputes. Abderrahim Foukara is the Al Jazeera DC Bureau Chief and as such overseas its offices in North and South America. He is also the host of Al Jazeera Arabic’s Min Washington, a weekly show which looks at US issues and how they impact the rest of the world and in particular the Middle East and North Africa. He is a native of Morocco where he completed his BA studies before moving to the UK where he completed his PhD studies before he joined the BBC World Service where over the next nine years he worked as producer, reporter, anchor and broadcast journalist instructor. In 1999, he joined The World, a co-production of the BBC, PRI and WGBH Boston. In 2001, he joined AllAfrica.com, the world’s largest provider of African news and analysis. He has been with AlJazeera since 2002. He is a frequent voice in the US media on Middle East issues.
