Turkish citizens heads to the polls on June 24 to elect the president and members of parliament. A new system for Turkish politics, an executive presidency, will also come into effect with TurkeyElections. Presidential elections will be held to elect the President of Turkey using a two-round system, with the first round taking place on 24 June and a second round (if necessary) due to occur two weeks after on 8 July. Parliamentary elections will take place to elect 600 Members of Parliament to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
A tight race between six presidential candidate including AKP ruled in past 15 years, the only woman candidate, an opposition Kurdish candidate running from prison, and a colourful campaign with dancing and traditional items running by main opposition candidate CH Party; alongside the parliamentary election all are going to challenge the critical issues the economy, the Kurds, and Syria.
