INGLEWOOD, CA

Join us for the Inglewood premiere of Autumn Breon’s most recent performance, Don’t Use Me: Wadi Rum.

About this event

Join us for the Inglewood premiere of Autumn Breon’s most recent performance, Don’t Use Me: Wadi Rum. This piece was created during Autumn’s participation in One of Many Studio’s 2022 Micro Artist’s Residency in Jordan. During her travels in Jordan, Autumn continued her examination of the relationship between two constructs: freedom and time, specifically through the lens of the Black woman’s body.

The artist collaborated with women from different sectors of Amman, including the team at the National Center for Culture and Arts as well as refugee women from Palestine and Syria for facilitated conversations on reclaiming time with Nour Batyne (Co-Founder of One of Many Studio).

Following the screening, there will be a discussion among artists Autumn Breon, Nour Batyne, and Britt Pham facilitated by Samiyah Hall.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday, August 12th at 7 PM at The Salt Eaters Bookstore. If you have a gently used book that you’re ready to part with, feel free to bring it! We’ll be collecting books that will be sent to young refugee women working on their conversational English.
