SUMMARY:Educators Workshop (Hybrid): AANM & Georgetown University
DESCRIPTION:Please join the Arab American National Museum and the Center fo
 r Contemporary Arab Studies (CCAS) and the Center for Muslim-Christian Und
 erstanding at Georgetown University for a half-day\, hybrid professional d
 evelopment workshop.  The workshop invites educators to hear from fellow 
 Arab American educators and authors on how to incorporate Arab American vo
 ices and perspectives in the classroom curriculum. The workshop will be he
 ld in person at AANM\; virtual attendees are also welcome to register for 
 a Zoom link.\n\nFeatured speakers include Reem Kassis\, award-wining autho
 r of We Are Palestinian: A Celebration of Culture and Tradition\, and Th
 e Palestinian Table. Attendees will receive copies of the books\, along wi
 th a lesson plan around the books. Teachers will learn of a variety of fre
 e educational resources.\n\nThis workshop allows educators to gain access 
 to unique educational resources\, network with fellow educators and enhanc
 e their knowledge about the Arab American community. A Middle Eastern lunc
 h will be served.\n\nThis workshop is made possible by a Title VI grant fr
 om the United States Department of Education\, which is funding National R
 esource Center on the Middle East and North Africa at Georgetown Universi
 ty’s Center for Contemporary Arab Studies and with additional funding fr
 om the Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at Geo
 rgetown.
