Experience why Washingtonian Magazine raves about the distinctive Egyptian fare at Fava Pot, the brick-and-mortar restaurant of the Food Network acclaimed local food truck by the same name. During this two-hour Open Kitchen D.C. event Fava Pot restaurant owner Dina, who moved to the U.S. in 2004, demystifies Egypt’s rich history, culture and food.
You’ll feel like a member of the family as you enjoy home-style Egyptian cuisine in dishes like baba ghanoush, falafels, hawawshi, tangen okra and lamb, kofta, chicken kabob, rice, and salad. The event concludes with delicious homemade cheese kunafa for dessert, which Dina demonstrates how to make.
Not only will you feel good about Dina’s devotion to using local, antibiotic-free and grass-fed ingredients, but you’ll be inspired by the restaurant’s involvement in supporting Egyptian orphans to receive an education.
At the conclusion of this exciting event, guests receive a signature Fava Pot recipe and spices to try at home, as well as a gift certificate to use when returning to Fava Pot.
For an unforgettable Middle Eastern culinary experience, join us from 4-6 pm on Sunday, March 29 in Falls Church, VA.
