 e our calligraphy retreat with Khalid Casado in Bethesda\, Maryland. Imme

  handwritten expression.\n\nStarting on Fri\, Sep 15\, 2023\, this in-per
 son event promises to be a delightful experience for calligraphy enthusias
 ts of all levels. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist\, t
 his retreat offers a unique opportunity to learn\, create\, and connect wi
 th like-minded individuals.\n\nAdditionally\, you'll have ample time for p
 ersonal practice\, as well as opportunities to engage in meaningful discus
 sions and exchange ideas with fellow participants. This retreat is not jus
 t about learning calligraphy but also fostering a sense of community and c
 amaraderie.\n\nSo\, mark your calendars and get ready to embark on a memor

 nbsp\;\n\nKhalid Casado\n\nKhalid was born in Madrid where he has lived an
 d developed both personally and academically. In 2009\, he met Nuria Garc
 ía Masip who later became his mentor and master. Guided by her\, he trave
 led to Istanbul and became acquainted with her masters. This is how he beg
 an his first lessons with the master calligrapher Davut Bektas\, and alway
 s under the supervision of master Hasan Çelebi.\n\nTwo years later\, he s
 tarted taking lessons from the master calligrapher Ferhat Kurlu who\, alon
 g with Nuria\, became one of his strongest influences. He received his ica
 zet or calligraphy diploma in sülüs and nesih scripts. In 2015\,he trave
 led for the first time to the United States and met master calligrapher Mo
 hammed Zakariya\, a person who has also inspired and influenced his work. 
 He teaches in cities throughout Spain and Europe. More of his work can be
