 regardless of their background\, have been attracted and moved by the art 
 of Arabic calligraphy. Whether you are an apsiring calligraphy student\, a
  beginner or never have held a reed pen\, we coordially invite you to join
  us for a two day calligraphy retreat with the master calligrapher\, Dr. N
 ihad Dukhan. Dr. Dukhan is part of calligraphy lineage which is nearly sev
 en hundred years old and now trains interested students. Join us for a med
 itative weekend with other aspirants seeking beauty and peace .\n\nAll res

 attendees so reserve your spot soon!\n\nNihad Dukhan\n\nNihad Dukhan is a 
 Palestinian-American master of Arabic calligraphy. He is also a professor 
 of mechanical engineering at the University of Detroit Mercy in Michigan. 
 He studied with the noted Istanbul grandmaster calligrapher Hasan Çelebi 
 (pronounced Chalabi) in thuluth and nesih styles and received his ijazah (
 master of calligraphy degree) in 2009 after 11 years of study. He also stu
 died taliq style with master calligrapher Mohamed Zakariya and received hi
 s ijazah in this script in 2013. Between 2013 and 2015\, Dukhan relocated 
 to Istanbul where he received advanced training under the guidance of mast
 er calligrapher Davut Bektas in jaly thuluth style. His Instagram account:
