Overview /Sypnosis
FOR SAMA is both an intimate and epic journey into the female experience of war. A love letter from a young mother to her daughter, the film tells the story of Waad al-Kateab’s life through five years of the uprising in Aleppo, Syria as she falls in love, gets married and gives birth to Sama, all while cataclysmic conflict rises around her. FOR SAMA is the winner of many awards including the BAFTA for Best Documentary in 2020.
Afraa Hashem is featured throughout the film For Sama, and is a teacher and human rights activist.

7.10pm – Screening (100mins)
8.50pm – Interactive quick text response to the film.
9.00pm – Q & A (approx. 45mins).
