Join ON Thur. May 19 for this important forum discussing some of the most urgent issues facing American families today including, the implications losing Roe v Wade will have on community health and the rising prices of, and lack of access to, quality healthcare. Signatures will be collected at the event for the Michigan Reproductive Freedom ballot initiative which seeks to enshrine a woman’s right to choose in Michigan’s constitution.
I understand the dilemma facing working families as healthcare costs soar, insurance companies decline needed treatments and it is harder and harder to get in to see our doctors. No family should face financial devastation over a sickness or a medical tragedy, nor should families be paying a large percentage of their wages for insurance. No woman should have to seek needed medical care in a back alley or an underground clinic.
We need policies in place that guarantee our families receive the medical care they need without losing their life savings, their homes or possibly their freedom. As your next Congresswoman I will work with public health experts to ensure I am always fighting for the policies that will bring the most quality and affordable care to the most Americans. Join me for this community discussion with one of America’s foremost experts on community health Dr. Abdul El-Sayed.
Dr. Abdul El-Sayed is a Harry A. and Margaret D. Towsley Foundation Policymaker in Residence at the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy.
