DESCRIPTION:NYC.\n\nHidden Voices of New York City: Arab American Heritage 
 Month (Grades 3-5)\n\nCelebrate Arab American Heritage Month with your stu
 dents by registering for this free virtual workshop for grades 3-5.\n\nIn 
 this session of the Hidden Voices of New York City series\, students will 
 learn about Arab American New Yorkers whose stories have too often been 
 “hidden” from the traditional historical record\, but whose lives and 
 legacies continue to shape our collective history and identity in the city
 . This program is inspired by the profiles in the Hidden Voices resource g
 uides\, which are aligned to the New York City Department of Education’s
  Passport to Social Studies.\n\nThis 1-hour workshop includes an active ch
 at for class participation and student activities to do during the program
 \, including a close\n\nexamination of images from the Museum’s collecti
 on and exhibitions.\n\nStudents who participate in the session will:\n\nWh
 o is this for?\n\nThis webinar is geared toward students in grades 3-5. In
 dividuals or classes are invited to register.\n\nAbout the session format:
 \n\nOur virtual student workshops are live and interactive sessions led ov
 er Zoom by Museum Educators in a setting that balances active engagement a
 nd privacy. Sessions will be presented as webinars\; students will be able
  to submit questions\, comments\, and observations to the moderators and c
 omplete polls and other activities but will not use cameras or mics and wi
 ll not be visible on screen.\n\nHow to Register:\n\nThese sessions are fre
 e! Advance registration is required. Educators who register for their clas
