Emerging from the Arab Film Festival, the Arab Film Series @ AANM is a collaborative effort between Cinema Lamont and the Arab American National Museum (AANM). The series brings a wide range of new and classic films by Arab and Arab American filmmakers to the doorstep of metro Detroit, uniting community members through film, dialogue and activism.
This season’s film series highlights films and programs directed and/or curated by women. Each program brings to light, the power of women directors, politicians and community activists.

Highlighting Yemen brings film, art, poetry and activism from Yemen and the Yemeni diaspora to AANM. Curated by and in partnership with the organization Michigan For Yemen, each piece of work tackles different topics, including identity, nationalism, war, humanity and history. This program is a narrative journey about Yemen: its history, culture, current crisis and the impacts of war.
