Details

The event is to benefit the children in need, by collecting much-needed school supplies and backpacks for their scholars and help the students continue to have all the materials they need to succeed throughout the year.

HUG Detroit Day started in August of 2013. It is the vision of Sky Covington and Sheila Everett -Hale who shared their desire and passion to take one day out of the year to literally HUG Detroit and its people. We want to show appreciation for the inspiring accomplishments of this great city and the people therein … to thank those who stayed here through the storm and those who came to help us rise above and excel as we create a New Detroit and new ways of being and doing things together.

It is estimated to cost $20-$35 to fill one backpack with the basic supplies needed this school year. Your contribution will be rewarded with an amazing free concert of 13 act and 2018 Hair Show.
Sky Covington will be collecting backpacks, supplies and monetary donations until Aug. 26. The drop-off dates are July 1th through August 26th at the Everette’s Natural Hair School & Hug Detroit Day Headquarter in Detroit MI. Unlimited Sky Production will provide a pickup service. Donations can be made via https://www.eventbrite.com/e/hug-detroit-day-backpack-school-supplies-donation-tickets-47456315116
