Wednesday, December 1, 2021, from 1 pm to 2:30 pm CST.

A talk by Provincial of the Jesuits in Britain, Fr Damian Howard SJ.

About this event

Fr Damian Howard, S.J., is an English Jesuit priest and provincial superior of the Jesuit British Province. He was previously a lecturer at Heythrop College and vice-director of the Bellarmine Institute. His research interests include interreligious relations, particularly between Christians and Muslims, and he is author of Being Human in Islam: The Impact of the Evolutionary Worldview (2011). He read Islamic studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies of the University of London and holds a doctorate in contemporary Islamic thought from the University of Birmingham.

In this talk, he will explore a Catholic approach to interfaith relations, the experience of a Muslim visitor to a Catholic church, and what sacred space means for these two faith traditions.

Living Stones (Pietre Vive) is an international mission of the Jesuits, forming young adults through intellectual and spiritual development on the art and architecture of historic churches. For more information visit pietre-vive.org.
