Calling all NAAP-DC writers and friends! We’re excited to work with RAWI (the Radius of Arab American Writers) and Arab-American writer, Susan Muaddi Darraj to bring you a dynamic, FREE workshop to help you hone your creative writing skills. The event — which includes a reading by Susan and hands-on workshop — is open to writers of all levels. Just bring yourself, your notebook, and some passion.

Don’t forget to save your seat by registering on the Eventbrite – space is definitely limited for this one:

RAWI has organized these writing workshops in different cities across the country, serving Arab-and Muslim-American writers, writers of color, and writers from any marginalized communities.

The event on May 5, 2018 is FREE and open to any emerging writer. It is co-sponsored by RAWI, NAAP-DC, and the Johns Hopkins University MA in Creative Writing Program. More
information about In Solidarity workshops can be found at .

About RAWI:

RAWI is the only national organization that provides mentoring, community, and support for Arab-American writers. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) literary organization dedicated to supporting and disseminating creative writing and scholarly writing by Arab-Americans.

We put on a conference featuring readings, panels, workshops, and roundtables every other year. Despite the fact that Arab-American voices continue to become more prominent, opportunities for us to share our experiences and insights, as well as to discuss the trajectory of Arab-American literature, is limited. Therefore, RAWI’s biennial gathering provides a rare opportunity to bring a large number of Arab-American writers, artists, and scholars (and their readers and admirers) into the same space so we can engage in various dialogues otherwise unavailable to us.
