 udies class on February 5th. Please join us for a presentation on Palestin
 e 101 with Dr. Lila Sharif following a film screening at 4:10pm of "1948: 
 Creation and Catastrophe."\n\nWhen: Monday\, February 5th\; film screening
  at 4:10pm and guest lecture at 5:30pm\n\nWhere: 116 Norton Hall\n\nDr. Li
 la Sharif is a creative writer\, researcher\, and assistant professor at t
 he School of Social Transformation at Arizona State University. She is cur
 rently writing a book about the ways in which fair trade economies\, settl
 er colonialism\, environmental destruction\, and storytelling converge at 
 Palestine's historic olive tree\, which has been harvested by Palestinians
  for over 6\,000 years.\n\nSharif is a co-founding member of the Critical 
 Refugee Studies Collective and of the Palestinian Feminist Collective. She
  is the first Palestinian to earn a Ph.D. in ethnic studies. She holds a d
 ual PhD in Sociology and Ethnic Studies.\n\nCosponsored by the Humanities 
 Institute and the Department of Indigenous Studies.
