Join us for the inaugural year of MIAMI RAKS FEST, a 4-day event featuring Dance Workshops and Performances by International Belly Dance Artists, Performers and Choreographers Sadie Marquardt and Amar Gamal with Guest Instructors Roshana Nofret and Alexandra Molina. The event also features a 2-day Belly Dance Fitness Instructor Training, an opening party, a magnificent theater show and plenty of shopping!
MIAMI RAKS FEST is an annual Middle Eastern Dance Festival organized by Portia Lange, Founder of Belly Motions, Inc. and Miss Luisa Quintana, Belly Dance Choreographer, Instructor and Performer. The festival offers a professional platform for Master Instructors to teach and perform and provides the opportunity for belly dance students, enthusiasts and professionals to gather, learn and enjoy a weekend filled with unforgettable experiences in Miami, one of the world’s most vibrant metropolis cities!

“INTRO TO DABKE” with ALEXANDRA MOLINA!
Jump in the line! One of the most common celebratory dances of the Middle East, Dabke is a joyous traditional line dance performed at weddings, birthdays and special occasions. Native to mountainous regions such as Lebanon, Syria and Palestine, this dance is characterized by strong and grounding footwork and accompanied by rich and powerful music. Alexandra will introduce basic foot patterns, musicality, combinations and the pure fun that Dabke brings so you can be ready for you next Arabic party! *Shoes/sneakers recommended

Workshops start on-time. Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early for check-in.
Free & Plentiful Parking at the venue! Yay!
The ballroom contains a wood dance floor surrounded by carpet. Some dancers prefer to wear dance shoes, others prefer to be barefoot. Both are welcomed. ALEXANDRA RECOMMENDS SNEAKERS.
No props will be required for the workshop.
Organic, healthy and delicious snacks and lunch options will be available for purchase. Cash and major credit cards will be accepted.
Vendors will be set up and selling fun belly dance merchandise. Who doesn’t love shopping?
A group photo will be taken at the end of each workshop and shared with all who have attended via email.
