Panel Features

Co-Hosted by Arab-American Business & Professional Association and the US-UAE Business Council, the Panel Luncheon features three distinguished speakers: 

  • Ms. Samia Ataya – Founder & Managing Director of Catwalk Cow
  • Dr. Malikah Alturki – Organizational Development Consultant
  • Dr. Doaa Taha – Chair of ADC Women’s Empowerment Forum

The panel will be moderated by, Dr. Salah S. Hassan, a Professor of Marketing & Brand Management at George Washington University.

About the Speakers

Ms. Samia Ataya is Founder and Managing Director of SATAYA Foods of Newark Delaware. An all-natural dessert mix manufacturer that produces dessert/baking mixes free from artificial additives, preservatives  and GMO’s using minimally refined and ethically sources raw ingredients. SATAYA Foods markets its products under the Catwalk Cow brand names. Ms. Samia W. Ataya finished her degree at Smith College in Massachusetts graduating with a major in Fine Arts and a minor in Special Education. Prior to establishing Catwalk Cow in 1995, she worked for Eveready and Nestle – in Dubai handling the Middle East and Africa region.
Dr. Doaa Taha is a Professor of Analytics & Data Science at Harrisburg University of Science & Technology. She is an entrepreneur, Managing Director and Board Co-Chair of Grey Matter LLC (Washington D.C.). Doaa is a Civil Society Leader and is the Chair of the American Arab Women’s Empowerment Forum; she is also a National Board Secretary of the ADC (American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee), serving on its Executive Committee. Doaa was previously Senior Advisor, for its Middle East & North Africa Program, to the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF), leading its workshops for a multi-lingual journalist security app in the Middle East (Turkey, Lebanon, UAE) and leading its delegation at the Arab Media Forum in Dubai.
Dr. Malikah Alturki is an award-winning Scholar-practitioner, with Ed.D. of Human & Organizational Learning from The George Washington University and MSc in Organization Development from American University. Dr. Alturki has eight years consulting experience in women’s entrepreneurship, organization development and learning, change management, entrepreneurial learning, organizational assessment and organizational design. Dr. Alturki’s academic research on Saudi women entrepreneurs has received the 2018 Esworthy Malcolm S. Knowles Dissertation of the Year award by the Academy of Human Resource Development.
Dr. Salah Hassan is an internationally recognized speaker, author, and thought leader in the field of Strategic Brand Management and Service Delivery Systems. Dr. Salah Hassan is Professor at the School of Business, The George Washington University since 1988 and served as Department Chair for six years. Currently, Dr. Hassan is directing a collaborative initiative called Client-Based Learning and Research (CBLR) that focuses on addressing the brand management challenges facing leading organizations. He is also the academic director of the graduate certificate program in Marketing & Brand Management.
