DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nAn Islamic geometry workshop featuring a pattern from the
  Alhambra Palace in Spain--open to all\, no experience or prior knowledge 
 necessary!\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for a hands on workshop exploring Islamic 
 geometry with MathArtPlay\, a project at the intersection of art and mathe
 matics!\n\nNo prior experience in art or mathematics is required—just cu
 riosity and a willingness to explore. Participants will leave with complet
 ed patterns and a deeper appreciation of geometry as a creative and cultur
 al language.\n\nOpen to students\, educators\, artists\, and anyone curiou
 s about geometry\, culture\, design\, and pattern. All materials provided.
 \n\nRebin Muhammad\, PhD\, is a mathematics educator and co-founder of Mat
 hArtPlay (https://www.mathartplay.org). His work explores creative ways to
  make mathematics visual\, interactive\, and accessible through geometry\,
  puzzles\, pattern\, design\, and hands-on making. He has developed and fa
 cilitated MathArtPlay programs with museums\, libraries\, schools\, univer
 sities\, festivals\, and community organizations.\n\nAlexandra Veremeychik
  is an Islamic geometric artist\, researcher at the University of Maryland
 \, and co-founder of MathArtPlay. Her work brings together geometry\, arti
 stic practice\, pattern\, and cultural traditions to create engaging hands
 -on learning experiences. She has designed and led MathArtPlay workshops a
 nd programs with museums\, libraries\, schools\, universities\, festivals\
 , and community organizations.\n\nThe Reed Society for the Sacred Arts (RS
 SA) works with a global network of artists and musicians to nurture the cu
 ltural\, intellectual\, and spiritual wisdom woven into sacred art forms. 
 The Reed Society's work serves not only as a platform for cultural preserv
 ation but also as a source of healing and reconnection for diverse populat
 ions\, particularly diaspora communities\, immigrants\, and refugees seeki
 ng to engage with their heritage.\n\nIn collaboration with leading artists
  and institutions\, our organization curates a rich array of programs — 
 including hands-on workshops\, immersive retreats\, musical performances\,
  academic lectures\, and exhibitions. The Reed Society’s work spans disc
 iplines such as Arabic and Ottoman calligraphy\, Islamic illumination (taz
 hib/tehzib)\, sacred geometry\, and traditional music forms such as Qawwal
 i and Sufi-inspired vocal traditions.\n\nThe Reed Society has partnered wi
 th organizations such as the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art\
