SUMMARY:Islamic Geometry Workshop
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nDiscover the intricacies of Islamic geometry through this
  hands-on workshop\, in collaboration with the Frist Art Museum.\n\n\n\n\n
 \n\nJoin us for a hands-on workshop exploring the timeless beauty of Islam
 ic geometry\, presented in collaboration with the Frist Art Museum's Anila
  Quayyam Agha's exhibition Interwoven and the Islamic Center of Nashville.
 \n\nThe workshop is led by Dr. Rebin Muhammad\, a mathematician\, educator
 \, and artist originally from the Kurdistan region of Iraq\, and Alexandra
  Veremeychik\, an Islamic geometric artist. Participants will construct ge
 ometric patterns.\n\nNo prior experience in art or mathematics is required
 —just curiosity and a willingness to explore. Participants will leave wi
 th completed patterns and a deeper appreciation of geometry as a creative 
 and cultural language.\n\nOpen to students\, educators\, artists\, and any
 one curious about geometry\, culture\, design\, and pattern. All materials
  provided.\n\n-\n\nThe Reed Society for the Sacred Arts (RSSA) works with 
 a global network of artists and musicians to nurture the cultural\, intell
 ectual\, and spiritual wisdom woven into sacred art forms. The Reed Societ
 y's work serves not only as a platform for cultural preservation but also 
 as a source of healing and reconnection for diverse populations\, particul
 arly diaspora communities\, immigrants\, and refugees seeking to engage wi
 th their heritage.\n\nIn collaboration with leading artists and institutio
 ns\, our organization curates a rich array of programs — including hands
 -on workshops\, immersive retreats\, musical performances\, academic lectu
 res\, and exhibitions. The Reed Society’s work spans disciplines such as
  Arabic and Ottoman calligraphy\, Islamic illumination (tazhib/tehzib)\, s
 acred geometry\, and traditional music forms such as Qawwali and Sufi-insp
 ired vocal traditions.\n\nThe Reed Society has partnered with organization
 s such as the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art\, The Walters A
 rt Museum\, The Kennedy Center\, and major universities including Harvard\
