 stine’s boomerang effect\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Jerusalem Fund invites you to 
 a lunchtime lecture and discussion with Dr. Mark Braverman\, author of Fa
 tal Embrace: Christians\, Jews\, and the Search for Peace in the Holy Land
  and A Wall in Jerusalem: Hope\, Healing\, and the Struggle for Justice 
 in Israel and Palestine.\n\nBraverman will examine how Gaza has exposed th
 e nature and scale of U.S. complicity in Israel’s project of dispossessi
 on\, ethnic cleansing\, and genocide. He will also consider what this mean
 s for American society itself. Drawing on Aimé Césaire’s concept of th
 e “boomerang\,” Braverman will discuss how the violence imposed on col
 onized peoples returns to shape the political\, moral\, and spiritual life
  of the societies that enable it. Braverman will address the context for t
 he events of October 7 2023\, U.S. power\, Christian nationalism\, Christi
 an Zionism\, the weaponization of antisemitism\, and the repression of tho
 se who speak for Palestinian rights. He will discuss the heated discourse 
 now taking place within the Christian and Jewish communities and in Americ
 an society at large and ask what responsibilities fall on churches\, faith
  communities\, the academy\, and civil society institutions in this moment
