Life and War in Syria: LA Jews for Peace Talk
Date(s) - 10/07/2018
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
SoCal Arbeter Ring/Workmen’s Circle
LOS ANGELES, CA
Two Syrian refugees, Jay Abdo and Fadia Afashe, will discuss their life and the war in Syria on Sunday, Oct. 7. LA Jews for Peace, along with The Markaz, is hosting the event.
Jay Abdo is an actor from Los Angeles who has experienced persecution in Syria for his lack of patriotism, and Fadia Afashe is an artist who gives a voice to people who do not have one.
The beginning of the Syrian War was seven years ago with multiple groups trying to abdicate Assad from his leadership position. However, other countries, including Russia, Iran, and The United States, have gotten involved in the civil crisis, leading to even more refugees.
The event is free to the public, but LA Jews for Peace would appreciate a modest donation. There is free street parking and also a lot available.
