DESCRIPTION:Acclaimed Violinist/Composer Layale Chaker is joined by her ban
 d Sarafand for music at the intersection of classical contemporary music\,
  Jazz\, Arabic Music\, and improvisation. This concert will be presented i
 n person and via livestream/online.\n\nAdmission is by donation\, students
  are free. Suggested sliding scale contribution $5-$50\n\nAbout Layale:\n\
 nDeemed a "Rising Star" by BBC Music Magazine\, violinist and composer Lay
 ale Chaker was raised on the verge of several musical streams since her ch
 ildhood. She debuted her musical training at the National Higher Conservat
 ory of Beirut in her native Lebanon\, and later went on to pursue her stud
 ies at Conservatoire Regional de Paris and the Royal Academy of Music in L
 ondon\, studying under professors such as Mohamed Hashem\, Carmen Scripcar
 iu\, Jeanne-Marie Conquer and Nicholas Miller.\n\nLayale's musical world l
 ies at the intersection of classical contemporary music\, Jazz\, Arabic Mu
 sic\, and improvisation. As a violinist and composer\, she has received co
 mmissions and presented performances and projects around Europe\, the Midd
 le-East\, North and South America and Asia\, and has collaborated with Dan
 iel Barenboim and the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra\, Ziad Rahbani\, Johnny
  Gandelsman\, Holland Baroque\, International Contemporary Ensemble\, Oxfo
 rd Orchestra\, the New World Symphony\, Babylon Orchestra\, performing at 
 the London Jazz Festival\, Alderburgh Festival\, Junger Kunstler Festival 
 Bayreuth\, the Lucerne Festival for Contemporary Music\, Impuls’ Festiva
 l\, Beethoven Festival Bonn and Avignon Festival among others\, and concer
 t halls such as The Berlin Philharmonic\, Abbaye de Royaumont\, Hancher Au
 ditorium\, The Stone\, National Sawdust\, the Banff Centre\, the Royal Alb
 ert Hall and the Wigmore Hall.
