Listen + Learn / June 2019

7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
The home of Jillian Wilzbacher
From Syria to Jordan and now, Maryland, the Slaik family has traveled more times in the past five years than many will in a lifetime. Adapting to a new culture, new language, and completely new way of life, this family of six has spent the past few years making connectings, finding work and becoming neighbors to those around them, all while incorporating aspects of Syrian culture into their new American life.
Take a break from the DC summer heat to list to listen to this family’s unique story and learn a little more about Syrian culture.
In partnership with the Bittersweet Foundation and National Community Church, this will be an intimate gathering designed for interactive learning and honest curiosity. If you have been desiring to learn more about refugee care locally (or the refugee experience globally), please join us.
