DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nKensington\, MD\n\nA 60 minute concert exploring the dime
 nsions of Islamic Soundscapes with Hasan Imam Hamdani at recording studio 
 in Kensington\, MD.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReed Society presents.......musician and 
 scholar Hasan Imam Hamdani.\n\nWe are pleased to invite a select group of 
 guests to an intimate listening salon designed to deepen attention\, foste
 r presence\, and explore the transformative power of sound.\n\nThe session
  will be led by the gifted Hasan Imam Hamdani\, who will perform original 
 compositions and music from around the Muslim world while reflecting on th
 e significance of sound and music within the Islamic tradition. Guests wil
 l be invited to engage in conversation throughout\, making this a highly i
 nteractive and participatory experience.\n\nWe hope to welcome you to the 
 inaugural gathering of our Listening Salon Series.\n\nPlease note: this wi
 ll be hosted at the Blue House Production recording studio and will be rec
 orded for future use. The studio is constructed with supurb acoustics for 
 recording and listening. As a result\, we cannot welcome children under th
 e ages of 15.\n\nHasan Imam Hamdani is a guitarist\, composer\, and educa
 tor. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the New E
 ngland Conservatory and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Ber
 klee College of Music. Hasan Imam previously served as Music Director of t
 he Global Music Ensemble at Towson University and currently teaches World 
 Music and American Music History at Montgomery College. He is the founder 
 and bandleader of Imam Collective\, a global music ensemble centered on cr
 oss-cultural collaboration. As a 2024–25 Strathmore Artist in Residence\
 , Hasan Imam founded Strings Across Traditions\, a project that unites st
 ring players from around the world. In October 2026\, he is organizing So
 und and Music in the Muslim World\, a one-day conference and concert at th
 e New England Conservatory exploring the role of sound and music in Muslim
  contexts.\n\nThe Reed Society for the Sacred Arts(RSSA) works with a glo
 bal network of artists and musicians to nurture the cultural\, intellectua
 l\, and spiritual wisdom woven into sacred art forms. The Reed Society's w
 ork serves not only as a platform for cultural preservation but also as a 
 source of healing and reconnection for diverse populations\, particularly 
 diaspora communities\, immigrants\, and refugees seeking to engage with th
 eir heritage.\nIn collaboration with leading artists and institutions\, ou
 r organization curates a rich array of programs — including hands-on wor
 kshops\, immersive retreats\, musical performances\, academic lectures\, a
 nd exhibitions. The Reed Society’s work spans disciplines such as Arabic
  and Ottoman calligraphy\, Islamic illumination (tazhib/tehzib)\, sacred g
 eometry\, and traditional music forms such as Qawwali and Sufi-inspired vo
 cal traditions.\n\nThe Reed Society has partnered with organizations such 
 as the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art\, The Walters Art Muse
 um\, The Kennedy Center\, and major universities including Harvard\, Georg
